Welcome to Agrabah, City of Enchantment, where every beggar has a story and every camel has a tail! All of your favorite characters are here in this stage adaptation of the Disney hit, including Aladdin, Jasmine, and of course, the Genie. Filled with magic, mayhem, and flying carpet rides, audiences' spirits will soar with excitement. Most of all, the tuneful, Academy award-winning score with songs including "A Whole New World" and "Friend Like Me" will certainly make this musical a favorite for many years to come!
Jodie Weiss - Director
Jodie Weiss is thrilled to be directing again at Greasepaint, her last production was The Wizardof OZ. Jodie has worked with Childsplay, Inc. on and off for over 25 years. Past Childsplay shows include Ozma of Oz, Mythic Proportions, The Little Prince, Beauty and the Beast, Goodnight Moon, Busytown, Seussical, Bunnicula, Sleeping Beauty, and Junie B Jones and Go Dog Go. Off the Childsplay's stage she has had the pleasure of performing in such productions as; Annie & Guys and Dolls at Starlight Musical Theater in San Diego. The Diviners, Sugar, They're Playing our Song and Dracula-the Musical at La Jolla Stage Company. Dames at Sea at the Oregon Cabaret Theater. A Tale of Two Cities at the San Diego REP and various roles in The White Rose, Cowgirls and The Snowball at The Old Globe Theater. Also, How To Succeed in Buisness" at the Scripps Ranch Theater where she won an Aubrey award for her performance as Heddy LaRue. Jodie has two wonderful teen-aged boys and a very supportive husband, all three keep her happy and grateful !
John Luke Osorio - Musical Director
JJohn Luke Osorio became interested in theatre when he was 14 years old after seeing his very first show. In the weeks following he auditioned for The Prince and the Pauperand began his journey pursuing acting. It wasn't until the summer of 2009 that John Luke was asked to be an intern at a Valley Youth Theatre summer camp. There he discovered music directing and asked specifically to intern under Mark Feary and observe the MD position. The following summer John Luke again served at VYT but this time not as an intern but as Music Director for Honk! Jr., which became his first job. John Luke has since music directed productions of The Aristocats, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, The Last Five Years, and the award winning original production of Merry Christmas Frakenstein. He has also served as the Assistant MD for VYT's Annie, Hairspray, and Grand Canyon University's The Frogs. John Luke serves on the board of directors for Rising Arts Theatre slated to open with its first production in December. He also teaches a small studio of piano students.
Ariana Ziskin - Choreographer
Ariana Ziskin is thrilled to be working with Greasepaint! She holds a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from the University of Idaho. She has worked professionally as a choreographer, director, actor and teaching artist in theaters and studios across the country including Idaho Repertory Theatre, Columbia Gorge Repertory Theatre, Coeur D'Alene Summer Theatre, East Valley Children's Theatre, Az Jewish Theatre, and Childsplay. She currently directs East Valley Children's Theatre's Bravo troupe, teaches show choir at Mesa Arts Academy, and is in charge of developing and implementing the performing arts program for Kre8tive Kids.
